How Do I Turn My Photo into a Custom Paint by Numbers Kit?

What Photos Work Best for Custom Paint by Numbers?

Clear, high-quality photos with good lighting always give the best results. Pet portraits, couple selfies, family shots, or travel snaps all work beautifully as custom paint by numbers kits.

To make sure your painting turns out amazing, here are our top tips:

  • Use a clear, high-resolution image (minimum 1000x1000 pixels; absolute minimum 750px wide and high).
  • Close-ups with good contrast and lighting show the most detail.
  • A simple, single-colour background will highlight the main subject.
  • We recommend no more than 4 people in one photo if you want faces to be clearly visible.
  • Avoid photos that are too dark, blurry, or washed out as they don’t translate well to canvas.

How detailed will my custom paint by numbers kit be?

The level of detail depends on the quality and resolution of your photo. High-resolution, well-lit photos create the most accurate results.

How Long Does a Custom Paint by Numbers Kit Take to Arrive?

Each kit is made to order, which means we need a little extra time to create it just for you. Please allow 2–3 days for processing while we prepare your personalised design. Shipping usually takes 7–10 business days, so most kits arrive within 2–4 weeks depending on your location.

You’ll receive a tracking link as soon as your kit is on the way so you can start planning your painting session. If your order hasn’t arrived after this timeframe, simply reach out via to hello@kikisclub.com and our team will help you out.

What happens if my photo isn’t good enough for a custom kit?

We want your painting to turn out amazing but here’s the deal: the final result can only be as good as the photo you send us. Bright, clear images with good resolution work best (think at least 1000x1000 pixels).

In the rare cases where one of our clients wasn't thrilled with their kit was usually because the photo was too dark, blurry, or lacking detail. Since each kit is custom-made just for you, we can’t offer returns or refunds if the issue comes from photo quality.

But rest assured, our team checks every photo before creating your kit, and we’ll reach out if we think a different one would work better.
